Play Rung online with friends
Play Rung — Court Piece, Coat Piece, however you call it — with your friends anywhere in the world. Free, in your browser, no download, no account. Just create a room, share the 4-letter code, and deal in.
How it works — three steps
- Create a room. Go to play.rung.gg, click Create Room, enter your name. You'll get a 4-letter room code instantly.
- Share the code. Send it to your friends on WhatsApp, iMessage, Discord, anywhere. They go to the same site, enter the code, and they're at your table.
- Deal in. Once four seats are filled (humans, bots, or any mix), the host hits Start and the first hand is dealt.
Total time from idea to cards-on-the-table: under 60 seconds.

4-letter code, instant join, voice chat built in. Free forever.
Create a Room →Built-in voice chat
Rung is half cards, half conversation. The banter — calling your partner out for a bad play, the chaos when someone tries a Goon Court — is the whole point. So voice chat is built right into the game. Once you're in a room, enable your microphone and you can talk to everyone at the table in real time. No Discord, no Zoom, no external app. Mute and unmute per player when you need to.
No account, no download, no install
A lot of online card games make you sign up, download an app, hand over an email, sit through ads. Rung doesn't. The whole experience runs in your browser. Type a name, get a code, play. If you close the tab and come back tomorrow, just type your name again and you're in. The friction is gone on purpose — Rung is for the 11pm "you up?" message, not the 30-minute onboarding.
Works on phones, tablets, and laptops
The game is fully responsive. On a phone you get a vertical layout designed for thumbs. On a tablet or laptop, the table expands into the classic four-seat layout. Switch devices mid-match if you need to — your seat is held by your name in the room.
Tested across iOS Safari, Android Chrome, desktop Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari.
Missing a player? Fill the seat with a bot
Got three of you and the fourth dropped out? Any empty seat can be filled with a smart AI bot that plays real Rung strategy — including following suit, signalling through discards, and saving high trumps for late tricks. The bots aren't perfect, but they play like a competent human, not a random-card generator. Read more about playing against bots →
Game settings the host can adjust
- Turn speed — Quick, Normal, or Relaxed. Pick the pace your group wants.
- Senior Ace — on/off. Trump Ace unbeatable when on.
- Double Sar / Goon Court — counts as one Court or two when all 13 tricks won.
- Void Twelfth — voids the round on exactly 12 tricks.
- Match length — first to N Courts wins.
Settings are locked in before the first deal so the whole table plays the same game.
Good for…
- Family group chats — siblings in three different cities meeting at one table.
- Long-distance friendships — cousins and college friends scattered across the diaspora.
- Casual hangouts — a few hands while catching up on a video call.
- Late-night sessions — when chai and Court Piece are the only correct combination.
